On June 21, 2016, at approximately 8:30pm MDT, Church Community Builder was the target of a Distributed Denial of Service attack. Our monitoring systems alerted our engineers to the issue, and we immediately took action and tweeted to our @CCBTech Twitter account that we were aware of the problem.
The network attack directed tens of thousands of connections per second from multiple locations to one of our ccbchurch.com IP addresses. Network security hardware quickly intercepted the attack, which resulted in the interruption of service. When the attack traffic subsided at approximately 8:55pm MDT, the security protocol whitelisted our IP address and service was restored. We then tweeted the 'all clear' flag to our church partners. We are confident that there was no data breach of any kind and that data integrity is intact.
While we cannot mitigate every attempt at causing service disruptions, Church Community Builder is committed to protecting and providing exceptional uptime for our church partners. If you would like more information on the security measures we employ, please read our help article here.
